We were excited when Doug Frost awarded the VIP Reserve a prestigious Jefferson Cup for top red vinifera in the U.S. Our winemaker, Jackie Thompson, talked with Jacob Harkins of Colorado Wino about the accolade.

So when Colorado’s first Jefferson Cup was delivered to Boulder Creek Winery this week, you can bet Mike and Jackie Thompson were eager to get the wine-bottle-sized gold trophy on display.

“We’re just excited to have it,” says Jackie, Boulder Creek winemaker and co-owner with husband Mike.
